PS3 & Singstar question

My Mrs has had some decent news, shes been made redundant and wants to treat herself to a PS3 and singstar games. I don't know much about them and want to know if it's best to go wireless or wired mics?

Also I notice there are a few singstar games for the ps3, can you load them all in like you can on say rockband and have one big list of songs instead of disc swappping?

I also presume there's no way to load on ps2 versions of singstar?

Buzz is also a big party fav of hers, anything like that out yet?

I have singstar for PS3 you cant export discs like you can on rockband so if you plan on getting more that the 1 disc then you will have to disc swap :(

I just have Singstar Vol 1 and a load of DLC for it. You can download a App via the store called Singstar viewer free to download which you can Preview and download songs without the need to load a disc.

Wireless mics are the best option, With wired ones i was getting a bit of feedback now and again when both mics were being used.
 
Thanks for that, are the additional game discs available as downloads or are those songs only available on other purchased game discs?
 
you dont have to quit the game to swap discs you just press select (i think its select) an then switch discs but all downloadable content is transferable.

if you browse through the singstar titles just pick the one you prefer then get the rest of the ones you want off the singstore, i think all the songs on the disks are there or atleast most of them are, and then your not paying for extra songs you dont want.

also i use wired mics but if you have a decent sized living room you may run out of cord unless you want to stand up and sing the whole time, i would like the wireless mics but i cant afford them at the min.
 
My Mrs bought the Wireless Mics seperate for £30 then bought Take That for £15, she also downloaded the singstar app from psn and just buys the songs she wants which i think is the best way to go.
 
I hope this isn't hijacking your thread, I just wondered if you singstar experts knew if the following was possible:

If you have a shed load of Singstar DLC, to sign in on a friend's PS3, and download your DLC on that console, then it be playable by all profiles who sign into that one?

One last question before I spend her money, she wants to know do the wireless mics work with ps2 as well?

In answer to those questions Singstar PS3 will let you use the PS2 singstar discs for music tracks but without the HD videos obviously, so grab old PS2 singstar games cheaply and have some extra songs. As for Buzz yes its out and its very good IMO plenty of free user generated quizs to be found on just about any random subject.
 
agree about Buzz, its amazing and one of the best games going on the PS3, personally it's up there with Singstar as THE best party games on the console tbh.

I still want to know if SS DLC can be "shared" tho :P

Im pretty sure they do mate and if you ever get rockband for the PS3 the Blue wireless mic will also work with that game.

New songs come out every 2 weeks (on a thusday) they are allways posted here http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/SingStar/bd-p/717 every other tuesday (New songs this week)

Also make sure you check out the community channel when you get it there are some funny videos of people singing on there :D

It cant mate between profiles,

I used to have a PS3 sold it then got a new slim it would not let me download my Sing star content right away, I had to ring Sony for a new Licence which took 7 days for them to do.

the DLC on singstar is locked to the original console you download it on by the serial number, i think the songs are playable on all profiles but im not 100% sure on that.
