I have an XBOX 360 elite but I also want a PS3 for the exclusive titles and a new Dell Ultrasharp 3008WFP 30". I don't want to pay the full £240 for the 120GB slim in one go as I've spent enough on luxuries in the last month, if I go for one of these mobile deals with a free PS3, would there be any catches to this?

This is the deal I am talking about: http://www.buymobilephones.net/mobi...B/T-Mobile/T-Mobile-Combi-15-(18mths)/1850672

I don't need a new phone or a contract as I have my iPhone 3GS. With Quidco cashback, I will only be paying £260 over 18 months (~£14.44/month).

Do you think this is a good way for getting the PS3?

P.S: All the things I buy are with my own money I've earned. They are not my parents money, student loan, overdraft etc.

Can you not get one on interest free credit somewhere? A few have done this on here i think, not one way i would go. I have looked at doing something like this but with a 250GB PS3 and a more expensive phone so its worth more when i trade them in for cash.

Use a credit card rather than sign up to an 18mth commitment you don't need tbh. The catch is that you have to jump through hoops to get your quidco (maybe) and have to remember to pay 14.44 a month for 18 months for something you don't really want. If you pay off the credit card in a couple of months you will save money as retail 120GB PS3s can be had for £220.

If you're going to be struggling to pay £250 in one lump sum for a PS3, then why don't you buy a cheaper screen?

A Dell 3008WFP is a fantastic piece of kit, but is complete overkill if you're only buying it to hook up to a games console. You'll be able to get a top of the range 1080P 100hz 32" or 37" LCD TV for half the price of the Dell.

On games, an LCD TV will perform just as well as the 3008. Arguably a decent TV will perform better, as the scaler in the 3008 creates a fair amount of input lag.

The 3008 really comes into it's own when your running it at it's native res of 2560 x 1600, but no current games console can render or output at that resolution.
