I've eventually decided to take the plunge and get a ps3 slim for both gaming and Blu-ray featuers, but deals for the 250gb slim are few and far between.
The best deal I've found is for £285 incl postage for the ps3 slim + fifa world cup and modnation racers. Would probably sell on modnation without even playing.
Any other good deals out there or any reason there may be a PS3 slim sale soon that I do not know about ?

If you dont need the extra 130GB get a 120GB PS3 to save some cash or get a better bundle deal. Modnation racers is worth a try though, loading times a bit long but the game and creator stuff is pretty good.

I have seen it for 259.99 with a months free rental of games and a free Modnation game.

Thats the 250 gig version.

Though I cannot state which store as it might be contrued to be a competitor of this site (they are sold in OCUK). But "renting" of games might be a good enough hint.

Thanks guys.
I had a look at 120GB bundles but they aren't great and in some cases the difference is only about £15 or so and I'd rather have the extra 130GB for that.

The 250gb + Wolverine and Dark Knight and remote looks good, a lot of stores have similar but none instock, I'll give them a call and see if they have it instock

I'll look at the renting store instore, couldn't find that deal online.

I second get a 120 gb a lot of ps3 games don't have an install option and even when they do it's not a lot of gb you could probably install a hell of a lot of games on there it's not like xbox where it installs a lot to hard drive.
No idea which hard drives ps3's use but I'd imagine you are better off paying £30-£40 at a later date for a decent 320gb-750gb western digital or samsung.

I bought mine last week in the end just went for a 120gb slim with 2010 fifa world cup it's a fantastic game best online footy ever better than fifa 10 even ( it's more or less fifa 10.5)this game comes with no install to hard drive option and I cant say I have noticed any long load times pretty average.

The reason deals are hard to come by is because the ps3 is selling very nicely at current prices, just go and get one there's always a better deal round the corner it's sods law just get a 120gb + game/games deal but choose wisely as many of the games you can pick up for cheapo second hand.

PS3 deals seem few and far between. My old man picked up a 250GB and Heavy Rain for cheapies. He didn’t want HR so traded it still wrapped for 3 second hand games. A few weeks later I decided to get my own but couldn’t find any decent deals (most shops weren’t interested). In the end an indie offered a 250GB at std price with Uncharted 2 half-price and 10 free rentals.

If you can’t wait, you might just have to take the plunge.

I got a 120gb for £194 from very if you create a new account and search google there are/was a load of codes for discounts for new customers and you can also use Quidco to get some more back..

I bought mine last summer at the high street store with the dog and the record player logo. The bundle wasn't great so I talked to the manager nicely. He let me swap the bundled games for other games of my choice to the same value.

Thanks to Jenson Button for the PS3 and the holiday :)

I got my 250gb ps3 slim in a deal with Final Fantasy XIII and God Of War III for £289.99 at the end of may in a shop (i assume i can't name shops), shame they stopped doing that deal a few days later i think.

Thanks for the all the suggestions, will go to a few stores on Saturday and try to haggle and if nobody wants my money I'll go with something from Very I think
