Hello,

Does anyone here use there PS3 Slim with a stand ?

Got in laying down at the moment, stood it up without a stand feels alittle unsteady :(

Is there a official stand from Sony ?

What do people recommend ?

i wants to stand mine to but didn't for the same reasom....so now layed on top of the sub woofer
 
I bought a cheap 3rd party one off eBay. Will cost less than the official one, if it's ever released, and will be pretty much identical anyway.

Does it have a USB splitter included?
My current phat stand does and it's absolutely essential, I'm hoping that if I bump up to a slim version I can find a stand that does the same.
 
Is lying it on its side bad for the ps3? I've got one coming and was just wondering if I shouldn't lye it down?

No.

The console is designed to be stood vertical (with accessories), and for the slim at least (and probably the fat), there are no cooling vents on the sides to block anyway.

Slim only has 2 front USB ports, none on the back. Not seen any other stands that have a splitter, but imagine someone will bring something out to bump the available USB ports up.

I'm a sucker and bought the official Sony Slim stand.. Was quite hard to find at first and it cost a fair bit.. But it does look sooooooooooooooooooooo much better standing.. so it was all worth it..

Third party anything in terms of consoles is always 2nd best.
 
people who bought the stand like to justify why they bought the stand even though im standing my slim ps3 up without a stand perfectly fine lol

and its stable unless someone punches it over its going to be perfectly fine staying that way :)

They don't need to justify their purchase. People who don't think it's worth the money don't buy it. People who like to support the developers of their favourite console usually buy first party accessories.
 
my Ikea wardrobe modified with 2 custom shelf on the left side
26" TV on the top shelf and bottom shelf a ps3 slim standing without stand and a 360 beside it, ps3 sandwiched between 360 and the wardrobe so pretty safe :p not really needed a ps3 slim stand IMO except for looks.
 
The slim is so naff, it has no grip no matter which way you have it, plugging in a USB device will just push it around unless you hold it in place.
