PS3 slow download speeds :/

I'm gonna keep it quick guys. My 360 and Wii U download at max mbps, but my PS3 seems to download at about 150kbs

Would MAC filtering fix this as it's so bad I can't even get into Dust 514 damn it!

i only get slow download speeds on my ps3 when using wifi, both my xbox and ps3 are hard wired now so i dont get slow speeds, are you using wifi as well ???

All 3 consoles are using wifi yes.

Its usually down to closed ports. Having ps3 in a dmz or doing proper port forwarding can solve. Although it seems hit and miss for some. Theres quite a few ports to forward too, half a dozen I think.

If you're on virgin that could well be why you're experiencing slow speeds. Either way look for a program called ps3.proxy server. I think that's what it was, this is going a while back now as I don't use my PS3 any more. Even wired directly to the modem I would get shocking download speeds from my PS3.

By using this program on a PC and setting your PS3's proxy to point to your PCs IP address you get much better speeds, doing this used to max my connection whereas without it downloads were painfully slow.

Don't ask me why, I just know it works
