I'm in the process of getting my PS3 set up again, I have bought a HDMI>DVI cable for use with my monitor so now I need sound... I have seen the PS3 sound bar which looks ideal as it connects via the optical output but reports are that it's a little on the quiet side? does anyone have experience one? or is there a better, branded alternative that connects via the optical output?

thanks.

If this is your PC monitor, as in, your PC is right there next to it. Then feed through your sound card's line-in and out to whatever you use for sound with your PC.

No mate it's a spare monitor, I'm planning to use it instead of a TV but other than a receiver with speakers etc (which is overkill really) I think a sound bar is the best option?

I just want basic stereo audio like a TV but I've read reviews that the official PS3 one is not very loud, I was wondering if there were any other good alternatives that people have tried or if the reviews are from people who like to play their games at 100dB. :p
