PS3 speaker woes

Hi All, long time reader, first time poster.

Recently gone back up to Uni and brought back with me my PS3.

I've currently got it hooked up via hdmi->dvi to my Dell 2407 A04 monitor.

Does anyone know if there are any USB speakers that would work with the console? I've got a USB gaming headset that has a usb adaptor for its speaker/microphone cables. I tried plugging the speaker's cable into this but no avail.

Any help would be most appreciated,

Regards,

You may not need usb speakers, what sort of connection do your current PC speakers use?

[EDIT] A possible solution for you

1:Get one of these:

Plug the two phono audio-out cables that come with the ps3 into that, and then plug it into the audio-in socket of your PC. If you set your PS3 to output audio through the phono cables your PC should then be able to output the PS3 audio through your PC speakers.

For a bit of help, i found the thing i posted by googling 'phono to 3.5'

As far as i'm aware the USB headphone only provides sound for voice chat etc and not music and game sounds. So I would imagine that even if you did have usb speakers it would be the same - someone will no doubt correct me if I'm wrong, which I probably am.
