Hi guys.
Ive got a ps3 40gb that ive upped to 80 and bought a couple of games. My dad has bought a ps3 off a site where you can buy second hand stuff locally a sticky bark place. Anyway it didnt come with a drive so i popped onto the good guys at ocuk and grabbed myself a 500gb 2.5 sata drive which should be here tomorrow.
Ive got a sata to usb converter and what im hoping to do is format the 500gb drive use the back ps3 system on the new drive over usb, then take the data off onto my pc pull my 80gb format the 500gb and 80gb and use the 80gb drive to restore the system then finally rinse and install into my dads.
First question is will that work? ive read the data is encrypted will it be ok?
Secondly the games ive bought as im not committing piracy and im using the same ps3 for the games im gussing they wont use up one of my 5 lives. Or should I unregister the ps3 before hand then redownload them. Dont reallly want to mess this up last time i did this i didnt have any downloaded games
