Hi :)

I'd like a tennis game for the PS3 and having played the Virtua Tennis demo from the psn i'm not too sure on the gameplay, seems too easy or something...

should i get me a copy of VT or should i wait for the more prestigious Smash Court or Top Spin titles?

The VT3 demo was definitely on an easy setting, and doesn't do the full game justice.

If, like me, you enjoyed the VT series since the Dreamcast days, I'm sure you'd like VT3. I was expecting more from a next gen title though, and the character models and environments are not as good as, say, Top Spin 2 on Xbox 360.

But personally I was never a fan of that whole special move 'focus' metre whatchamacallit anyhow.

VT was always about the intuitive pick-up-and-play, using a minimum of buttons - and this is still the case. The main problem I found with VT3 was that you can't seem to get the wide angle shots as easily as the previous games. Whilst this may have been changed to feel more realistic, the result is that 4-player rallies with experienced gamers can go on for a lonnnng time...

Other than that - and with the addition of the bonus mini-games - it's definitely worth a purchase if you can get it at a good price.

Topspin 2 is the best for me, quite looking forward to seeing how the right stick is going to work in Topspin 3. Saying that, Rockstar's Table Tennis is better than both :D
