Just a few questions to you console guys...

I have a PS3 but I really...really dislike the control, it gives me a pain in my right hand when using it. What is the best Xbox 360 style control I can replace it with?

Also, how do you guys talk to each other and what headset option is best value for money?

There are some third party controllers out there that copy the shape, ones with good build quality are few and far between though.

The best wireless headset is the official ps3 headset which will set you back roughly £15 last i checked. It supports a wide variety of wired headsets that vary in price between £10 - £150, obviously the high end of these offer the best quality possible so it depends on your budget. I opted for the official wireless headset and am very happy with it.

Most replacemnt ps3 controllers are awful, you could try the speedlink one, it's xbox shaped.

I really dont like the PS3 controller, and as the alternatives are so poor, i went with a set of grips and clips to cover the triggers

it makes the controller feel infinitely better in the hand imo, far chunkier and doesn't dig into the palm anywhere near as much

best £8 i've spent in a long time

That might be a better option, where did you get those from? I have a set of rear trigger clip things coming from eBay as I feel the L2 and R2 are too small...

iirc i got it from amazon, came with the trigger clips, two clip on things for the thumb sticks (which i didn't use) and the grips for your palms.

it was make or break for me, i was ready to sell the console if i had'nt found that pack

have a search for this "PS3 Controller Grips - with Game Grip Technology" (gone up to £9.99)

Cheers man! 1 inbound for delivery!

Now just want a stand to hold my PS3 and games...

P.S. I see vinyl sticker sets on eBay, are they any good? I.e. do they peel easy/quality etc?

I got a Gioteck EX-01 earpiece thing for £9 from Asda, the official PS3 one is £25. The guys can hear me fine and I can hear them clear also.

Going to do some clan thingy later, no idea what it is, we just need to wait for one of our guys (Munch from 2 pints) to get back from France first xD

Just wondering, is this Playstation Plus really worth the £40 a year? I will admit, I fancy infamous 2 and Red Dead Redemption...maybe even Little Planet...

Personally it seems worth it, but I could be missing something, any of you guys got it?

Backing up game saves online and the overnight system/game updates are a real bonus too.

Problem is, my HDD is only 40Gb and I don't have enough spare cash to buy a new one. Can I rig up a desktop sized drive and cool it externally?

Woo! Sold my husky fridge, now got a 500Gb Seagate HDD on the way!! Bit silly to have downloaded all my Black Ops maps + Little Big Planet 2 + DUST 514...now I need to somehow transfer EVERYTHING when the new HDD comes...

Do you have an external HDD caddie (you can pick them up for less than a tenner if not). If you do then pop your new drive in there, format to FAT32, backup your PS3 to the external drive, copy all onto your PC. Pop the new drive into your PS3 and run through the auto format and setup. Put the old 40GB drive into the external caddie and format to FAT32 again, copy your backup onto the drive from your PC and then restore to your PS3.

Hope that was clear?

That'll be fine. If you've bought anything over the PSN you can just go back into the store, go into your download history and redownload the stuff too, so no need to back all of it up anyway, unless you have a really slow Internet connection but you could always redownload your things overnight. :)

I get a max of about 475 Kbps down...This is due to making the decision to go with Sky Broadband instead of BT Infinity due to the costs...

I just mainly want my COD maps transferring across as its a right pain to locate and download them all again...
