This seems to be more network related so I'll post here.

See my lan setup below... (Ignore the quick drawing... ;))

---- Yellow Cable is CAT6

I use the PS3 for streaming all of my media (AVIs & MP3s) from my server - HP ML115 G5. It has been working without any problems at all on wireless but just recently had to re-locate the router for a better connection.

The problem is the PS3 now will not stream any MP3s or Video files at all. I can locate the media server, go through all of the folders but when I pick a video or MP3, it takes ages to load, then when it does it plays 5 seconds at a time as tho the connection is not good enough.
However if I switch to Wireless it works perfectly, streams without any hitches.
I've put my Xbox360 in the same place as the PS3 and it streams videos and MP3s perfectly?

What is going on before I go mad?! :p

do you have the ps3 plugged into ethernet and wireless at the same time, perhaps its confused regarding the settings

not clear in the diagram which are wireless links vs cabled

Bad cable causing a massive amount of retransmits, hence poor speeds?

But this does not explain why the XBOX 360 streams the same MP3/Video without any issues what so ever.

Everything else on the network works without a hitch and get some decent speeds via the 1Gb switch.

Sorry, The only wireless link is the PS3 - Just to test. Once you set the PS3 Wired connection, it disables the Wireless link.

Just to add, I've plugged the PS3 to the Gigabit switch and it streams without any issues, could it be the 100mps switch?

Just a shot in the dark, I know nothing of PS3 configuration but can you force 100Mbps full duplex? Perhaps the Xbox is doing a better job of negotiating.
