I bought an Ultra slim 500GB PS3 back in October but it has started crashing quite often.

I bought it from an online etailer based in Jersey (I didn't realise they were Jersey based until researching how to return said item... so no chance of using SOG act!!!

Does anyone know how I can contact Sony to see if they will repair/replace?

This has a manufacturer warranty so just contact Sony. They will most likely send out a box by courier and all you will do is pop the ps3 in it and await a new/repaired one back. Bad luck though as the super slims are meant to be pretty reliable!

I'd return it to the retailer and ask for a replacement. They may try to persuade you to contact Sony (who will probably just give you a refurb) but by law, they're required to offer you a refund or replacement.

its under a year old so surely they should take it back anyway? i dont think you need SOGA in this instance.

Nope, they will only deal with faults within 30 days!!!

With them being based in Jersey they are not bound by UK law and as they are not in the EU there's nothing to stop them selling to the UK and ignoring SOGA etc.
