New firmware is available now, its nothing special just some improvements to online stability for some titles according to the PSN blog.

thats strange how its gone up to 2.17

Wouldn't little improvements get a .1 added on.

Seems like quite a big patch for just some bugfixes. My money is on there being some code included that is preparing for a bigger update in the future.

Much like in battlefield for example, where you always have a huge patch that seems to do very little a short while before an expansion is released.

I just hope the COD4 patch follows soon. 360 got theres about 3 weeks ago!

Yeah, I'm guessing this is a foundation for the PSN overhaul that's due this month.
