PS3 Update = loss of sound :/

Hey

I have just updated my PS3 and lost all sound i have tried everything like restarts unpluging cables factory reset the lot and still have no sound and as i use my PS3 for watching bluray and tv this really sucks

Has anyone had this problem or know of any way if sorting it???

Whats your set up.

Try going to sound set up and messing around with that.

In the year that I've had my PS3, i've had total sound loss 3 times. I found something on the net that said unplug everything. PS3, TV, the lot. Seems to work. Not sure why.

Using the usual AV reset didn't work

Yeah, I read this somewhere too. Unplugging the PS3, Switching it off. Seems to solve the issue for some.

well it just running thru HDMI into a 40"samsung LCD ive had the ps3 for about 14months now never had a problem then updated today and boom no sound and if tried all the usual but i will unplug all now and see if that works

have you made sure it isnt the cable or the hdmi port on the tv ?

Well the sound has just come back on :S but i seem to have lost bbc iplayer

Is this a fat ps3, that you haven't turned on for ages? since that date bug?
thats when i lost bbc iplayer icon.

if u go on iplayer site in the browser then turn off ps3 and back on should be back!
