PS3 Update to ver 1.9 error please help (Error: 80710736)

Hi guys I have just recently changed broadband from orange to Aquiss! I am using the Netgear DG834G, I have UPnP enabled.

When updating the PS3 patch to 1.9 I get this error:

"An error occured during the download operation. A connection to the server cannot be established. (80710736)

However I can still use PStore and stream movies from my PC?

Can anyone help me please? I have checked on the net but cant really find anything

Just to let you guys know I put the PS3 IP Address in the DMZ on the Netgear router and now it works fine!!!

I know but is it a safe thing to do?
