have you ever tryed telling a kid what he or she can or can not have? trust me its a pain in the arse. Consoles are for all ages not just young adults

Yes, I have 3 boys 16, 11 & 10 they have PC's, XBOX's and PS2's in there rooms, The 360 and if\when i get a PS3 goes in the lounge. To be honest my lads are far more interested in the PC and CSS to even be bothered with next gen consoles.

Asked them what they wanted for christmas? they replied "How PC's upgraded please dad" not even a sniff of a Wii!

What is wrong with a little bit of fanboyism? Aint we taking this thing (what one can say and cannot say) a tiny weeny too serious? If people wanna engage in such convo, then so be it. I dont think it makes anybody immature or silly. We all have them in us the locked thread shows that.

The article helps demistfy some of the issue over both console....I like it.

While I agree with you these forums have always been very restrictive and at over 5k posts you should know that by now

There is a different between been restrictive and doing what appears to be imposing personal preference.....My opinion anyway.

As you can see from his post count and when he joined it is possible that the forums are not restrictive enough

El, honestly if you want to have a childish Fanboy debate, then I advise you do it at gamespot or similar. They have a whole forum dedicated to system wars.
