This is a strange one and not so much a major problem, just a query.
Me and my bro both have PS3's and every now and then when we turn them on there isn't a picture but there is sound. We both use HDMI for them.
What we have to do is reset the video output by holding down the power button, then it says the PS3 has detected HDMI and do we want to use it to output picture.
It's almost as if the PS3 has suddenly decided to use composite instead.
Does anybody else have a similar problem?

It's happened to me once but my bro a few times. He has to actually arse about getting his composite cable, plugging it in,selecting HDMI and then plugging his HDMI cable into his TV to use it.
I wonder why the PS3 does it:confused:

Or alternatively he could hold the power button for three seconds to reset the video settings to factory default :p

Has happened to me once in the year and a half i've owned by PS3 so i'll survive.

The reset thing doesn't work on his ps3.It says it's detected HDMI but as soon as he selects it,he just gets a blank screen.Which is why he has to use composite.Very strange!

Does he use an LCD or a TFT?
Maybe look at the specs to see if it is HDCP supported?
