PS3 & Video Thumbnails

Does anyone know if the create video thumbnail feature on the PS3 works for files on the network too?

Ive had a quick look online but can only find info about how to create them..
 
I don't recall seeing them when using Nero Media Home, just showed black.

Sorry Scort, do you mean when browsing the files in nero media home?

I meant viewing the files on the PS3 but ones that are stored on a media server rather than on the PS3 itself..
 
:( Thats a shame, have you just tried it? Cheers if you have :)

I might have to buy a big disk to put in it then, maybe theyll add the option in a firmware update at some point.

Well the option to make a thumbnail was greyed out when streaming, I copied it onto the HDD and it let me so it must be a limitation!

Tried it a few days ago, was wondering myself. :p
 
Ah must be, i might get a big disk and store files on that, hopefully theyll add the option before i fill it up :D

Play the video press the triangle button to get the options menu, then select the change icon (next to delete) it will then record the next 15 seconds as a thumbnail.
