Sony packaged, the PS3 with a cable that will work with any television. Anyone that buys a PS3 can go home and use it.
If they packaged a HDMI cable, only the people with a HDTV can use it when they get home.
Without packaging every single type of cable in the box, there's not a brilliant solution.

I got a PS3 with an Hdmi cable thrown in at launch, stupid Sony should have included an HDTV for me to use the HDMI cable on.
Seriously though, perhaps its time for Sony to bundle an HDMI cable in, they have taken out the ethernet cable for the 80Gbs i think. At least tey give you a lead for it, i can recall when you never used to get a power lead or if you did you had to get a plug to fit it!
