PS3 wireless keypad

tempted to get the official sony one that clips to the PS3 joypad, but the keys look really small!

other option is Keysonic Wireless Keyboard/Touchpad ACK-540RF

anyone used either of these?

I own and have used both :) Had the keysonic first and bought the ps3 keypad recently.

I am struggling to find a question in your post, unless you wanted me to confirm that the ps3 keypad has smaller keys :)

it's the small keys on the sony that put me off getting one, wondered what the general opinion on the sony is? looks a bit awkward to use!

I find it a bit awkward - but its not that bad if you dont try and type on it at super speed (which is what I do). Considering the usage having a couple of mis-spelt words per sentence doesnt really affect what you are doing - its not like you are trying to type a dissertation on it...

Also you end up using your thumbs whereas on a normal keyboard you use your fingers so thats quite a big difference...

Surpsingly not. There is a thread about the Sony keypad somewhere.

Obviously the Keysonic has more traditional shaped/sized keys so you type "normally" on it but using the Sony one has not been an issue for me, so far, although it is "thumb" typing like hose pda keyboards you get, etc.

I have not used the keysonic since I got the Sony one, and I had used the keysonic for about 1 year, prior to this.

I have been using the official Sony one for a little while now and I really like it. Suprisingly it doesn't get in the way at all, like I thought it would - you forget it's there while gaming.

I tend to use one finger too type with it though as I don't find using my thumbs comfy at all. Still 1000 times faster than using the on screen keyboard though!

Is the Sony one reasonable light? One of the things that really puts mem off is how much it would change the weight distribution of the controller.

Also, what do you most use it for? The browser? Surely in games you would use a headset more-if you could only afford to get either the headset or the keypad, which would be of more use to you?
