Yuou get more bang for your buck with the Xbox 360 with all the deals people have been posting it seems. I dont think a few seconds loading time would bother me, not for about £300 difference say. Plus it seems that its not level loading times just inbetween cutscenes and the likes. From the 360 games Ive played, I wouldnt say any of them have awful loading times. Also we dont know how true this is really, I mean Sony has been spouting a lot of nonsense so I would take that with a pinch of salt personally. I could see the PS3 dissapointing a lot of people, with all the hype surrounding it but at least you can get a better idea of what the xbox 360 is all about from playing it now and from other users.
The online community on the forums through Xbox live seems very active which adds more reason to get it and get involved, 'Jump in' as it were...I know the PS3 will have online as well, but thats bot till march, you would miss out on all the banter that is on xbox live! Another thing which hasnt had much (if any) mention is the arcade titles you can get which might appeal to you, some classics there.

Do u mean xbox live arcade games??
The PS3 has a downloadable marketplace, and PS1 games are available to download and play on PSP and eventually the PS3.

I think your missing the point dude of a console - its predominant use is to play games (any other features are a bonus) - not make you a cup of tea on demand or do the washing. If your lookign for a console then you cant go far wrong with the 360 tbh - loads and loads of top games coming out (loads out now!!) and a huge back catalogue of xbox games too.

Game saves are 1Mb-4MB per save typically, say allow 500MB total max for game downloads (map etc), i really don't see how people are going to filling up these 20 GB hard drives. 20GB for all your music and high def porn is tiny, but 20 GB for all your console related stuff is fine. Unless i am missing the naughty housewives section on Marketplace, and that i doubt heeheealthough on the PS3 u are going to be able to store and playback video off the HDD. But i do like the idea of giving you the option to put the games on the HD to allow faster loading, as long as it behaves itself and doesn't turn out like oblivions caching
Edit, and a huge back catalogue of xbox games?? hope u r recomending he gets an xbox then and not and xbox 360, as the xbox 360 isnt compatible with many xbox games. Backwards compatibility is the one feature the PS3 really will own with. Weather or not you find it important is up to you though

I think he means in terms of if you had a PC with a 20Gb Hard Drive. To add to that 20Gb of the stuff would be some serious good going or am I just some person hidden in a cave?

Still, there's no way a normal gamer is going to fill 20GB's (13 GBs ) worth of space. I just don't see how it would be possible unless you save demo and videos downloaded from the marketplace. It'll probably be the same deal with the PS3 20GB HDD. A significant amount of that HDD will be reserved for other stuff.
