I've Purchased myself another PS3 and would like a pair of decent headphones to suit this and my Xbox 360.

I was hoping to buy a set that can be plugged into both simultaneously, I don't really want to keep unplugging/plugging them......lather rinse and repeat.

I'm currently using X11's for the Xbox, any recommendations?

Budget?

Mixamp + PC360 is the best multi platform headset combo you can get. You could downgrade to an Ear Force DSS setup and a decent set of stereo headphones like the Sennheiser 555's if you are on a budget and don't need a mic.

you would have to unplug and replug with the mixamp, but you could get an optical switcher.

I got some DT990s, and will be getting a Mixamp, can't wait. Meant to be AWESOME.

Reasonable as poss £50-ish as they won't be used much, only when the wife's asleep....no need for a mic as i'm an unsociable git ;)

I use the Turtle Beach PX21 on my PS3, xbox and PC. Really decent quality for the price.

How do have these plugged in to all three system?

My PC, Xbox and PS3 are connected to my Onkyo HTX22HDX amp, but this doesn't have a headphone socket.
My monitor (Samsung S27A950D) doe's have a headphone socket, so I could enable HDMI audio passthrough option, but I need a USB port at the mo for the headphone amp, but then the USB cable won't reach......I supposed I could just buy an extender cable for the minijack plug.

do you need a mic as well? you may be able to get a better pair of "headphones" than TB Etc...

But if you need a headset with mic then i would say turtle beach.

I just use my Sennheiser PC 161's with a little USB adaptor thing on the rare occasion I need headphones on a console. But then I'm not bothere about plugging it in :/

I just move them when I need to, takes two seconds. On PC and PS3 its simple USB audio. On the 360 its USB for power and a headphone jack for the sound, using the official a/v adapter. The two consoles are then hooked up to my Sony A/V by HDMI

I wasn't as impressed with the 990's. I use an optical splitter so no switching of wires, just don't have both consoles on at the same time or you get no sound.

What are you using now Kreeeee? I love them, fist decent set of cans though so as you can imagine they would sound awesome.

Yet to use them for gaming or with a mixamp.

I bought the Official Sony Stereo wireless headset Friday from the rain forest & they arrived Saturday @ 7.40am.
They are Superb & are Ultra comfortable even after a few hours heavy gaming, Battery life is around 6-8 hours apparently & they are charged with the lead you use for your controller, Full charge takes around 2-3 hours.
Gaming with my mates last night they said my voice was Crystal clear & there is also a slider on the side of the headset to adjust between Voice & Gaming sound a volume slider & a button to turn on/off the Surround sound.
Sound is not the best I've heard but it's Excellent when it comes to gaming & positioning enemy via the sound of there footsteps etc.
All in all I'm chuffed to bits with the headset as now I'm playing with a clan games are getting heavy & late & I no longer have to worry about my neighbours hearing my surround sound system, The Bonus is the improvement in my game play as it's virtually impossible to creep up on me now & I turn the right way when I hear sounds as the sound is so directional if that makes sense.

I use an Astro wireless mixamp and the new style Trittons, its incredible, any headset using decent 50mm drivers should be just as good. I would avoid the Astro headsets, I didn't think much to them (A30 and A40, 30mm drivers and 40mm drivers). They are bringing A50's out sometime in the future.

They use the usb from your pc/xbox/ps3, a 3.5mm jack for the mic on the pc/ps3 and come with a little 2.5mm to 3.5mm lead for the xbox controler.

For music they are fantastic, but the positional sound is lacking compared to the pc360's.

I have the PX3 headset and just do the same as you and like you say it only takes a few seconds to do .
