Is it worth trying this and is there a high success rate as a friend has just offered me his PS3 for £30 but it has a YLOD. I've heard people say they have failed again inside a month of fixing it?
I done mine, an old 60gb and it lasted for about 8 months. After that I was happy enough to buy a new slim. Not overjoyed about losing backward compatibility though.
Would this be as simple as the 360 oven repair trick? Reason I ask is a friend of the wife has asked if I can micro solder the ps3 so I am assuming its the YLOD.
