This initially happend to me back in 2010, I got a replacement which i paid £130 for but that replacement has developed the same problem!

I've called Sony, got angry and now I'm waiting for a call back from a supervisor, I don't see why I should have to shell out again due to their shoddy build quality!

Has this happend to anyone else? Do I have any rights?
 
Im guessing you paid that amount due to it being out of warranty? Depends me personally if i were to get 2-3 year sout of a consol and it died way i use it i wouldnt be fussed if it died id replace it anyway.

Though from what i re-call all Sony repairs did give up the ghost again usual around 6 months if you belived reports.

Id cut losses and buy a Slim if its a phat PS3 you have, You could go down of trading standard,rights laws etc but to me more hassle than its worth
 
I treat my consoles like crap and I've yet to have one die yet.

I wonder why it happens more to some than others. It's like it either dies all the time, or not at all.

I guess you could invoke the SoGA but Im unsure if it covers refurbs - in this case Sony would be acting as the retailer so it would be qualified...

Good News!

Supervisor called, I ranted and raved etc..which worked a treat, they are going to be sending me a 120GB Slim Line Model for free :cool:

Proves that kicking off a fuss works! :D
