Then again Ps2 done it, but hey Xbox360 managed it very wellMJ said:but then again they say a lot of things![]()
The problem with the 360 was because of legal issues. Sony won't have this problem as afaik the CPU and GPU were Sony's own design.Macca said:Then again Ps2 done it, but hey Xbox360 managed it very well![]()

Spot on.wedgie22 said:As far as i know the problem with the 360 is mainly due to the fact that the original xbox had an Nvidia graphics chip, while the 360 is ATI (i think). Backwords compatability has to be done by emulation which is why there are problems with some games, whilst others just don't work at all.
Aye but the PS2 had a completely proprietary GPU hence there are no legal issues about backwards compatibility. As wedgie22 said the problem with the Xbox compatibility is the GPU. Different OSes wouldn't be a problem since MS own both they can make them compatible with each other.Energize said:The ps3s gpu is a modified 7800gtx made by nvidia, the cpu was made with ibm and toshibia. I heard the 360s problems were because the xbox and 360 used different operating systems, whereas the ps1/ps2 ran off a rom chip.
