any ideas anyone??

hrmm i think thats the same one i have. No connection problems at all

I assume your router has WPA on? Have you entered the SSID code when setting up your ps3 for access?

Also do you have a pc connected to the router? Did you get the router from sky? :D

Is this the sky router? Is this using wireless or cabled? Mines was set up fairly straight forward on the wireless, i also assigned it a specific ip, i believe it has to be 192.168.0.2 onwards. I'm using the same router.

Sony products only seem to like to connect to a wireless modem if it uses WEP.

I also have a dg834gt and my PSP won't connect if i used the access list, but when i turned it off and used WEP instead, connected stright away. Same story with my PS3

Yep im using the sky router, i have a wired connection to my pc and wireless on my other pc..and am trying to connect my ps3 wirelessly

i have entered the SSID

and the MAC address i entered was found on the 'system settngs' on the ps3..

also cannot connect my psp and wii either..:(

I dont think its a Sony product problem. My PS3 is connected WPA no problems at all. I think the Netgear dg834gt and a few other routers are having problems

Do a pin hole reset of the router, this will then set the security back to wep with no access list, try connecting again entering the wep key that you recived with the pack and see if that allows you to connect.....

have already tried that..it didnt work....:(

Hi,

I am at home today, so willing to do a couple of tests to help you.

Can you just clarify what encryption you are using WEP/WPA or none?

I have a PSP connected which is firmware 3.71. I will try to connect the PS3 a bit later.

Also can you clarify the version of your router's firmware. You will find this on the "Router Status" page. Mine is V1.02.04

Also, you mentioned you use the Sky Branded Netgear DG834GT (I use the undranded version of this). Are you actually using SKY Braodband as your ISP, or have you flashed the route back to Netgear and using with your own ADSL ISP. The reason I ask is for Sky Broadband they have made their own changes to the firmware, which means it is not the same as what you get buying the proper Netgear router, and also means you can't upgrade it to the firmware's on Netgear's site.

Not having used Sky I don't know if this would affect the wireless side of things in anyway, but they have meddled a lot with what is a really top rate home ADSL router.

hi,

yep my ISP is Sky...im currently at work at the moment but once i get home i will check what version firmware i have

i cant really remeber of the top of my head what encryption it is so i will have to check but im guessing its WPA(TKIP)

- What error code does the PS give you?
- Have you tried without WPA to see if that works?
- What version software is your PS3, I remeber having some connection problems in the past with older versions.
