When I started Folding on my PS3 I was getting a mixture of WUs, some taking about 5 hours and scoring around about 450 credits each, and some taking about 8 hours and scoring around abot 280 credits. Now I just seem to be getting the longer/lower scoring WUs (working out at about 800PPD). But, taking a random sample of PS3 folders, it seems it's not just me. Have Stanford University decided to nerf the PS3 output or is this just a phase in the project and the higher scoring WUs will return?

Originally the PPD for a full days folding were 700 and something. They were capped as otherwise the PS3s would have been even further in front than they are now.

Edit : I'm only folding on my PS3 and look at my Daily Average....

Initially the Ps3 WU was set at 900/day and they don't expect anyone to run there Ps3 24/7. The reason for varying ppd on the Ps3 may be trying out new calcs for the Ps3 as its limited to the types of WU it can process.

One theory that's been suggested is that once the benchmark machine (a PS3 of course in this case) has the updated software any new WUs benchmarked after that point will effectively be scored lower to meet the 900PPD mark.

Is it possible to turn of the graphical goodness when folding on the Ps3?
Thus leaving it with more cpu/gpu cycles for f@h.

Doesnt make any difference. I believe the RSX handles the graphics.

But at least you could save some electricity. How much does the RSX use on load?
