werent sure if been brought up couldnt see thread on it and mods welcome to delete thread if been mentioned anyway gametrailers.com has a split screen trailer of oblivion for ps3 and 360 .

Although it may seem like a very good way of comparing consoles, it just doesnt work... The team may have spent more time on x version, or had more expertise with the hardware in y console. Not to mention multi-platform games are never optimised for either console.

I don't know what the results were, but Oblivion has been out for 360 since March 06 so you'd expect the PS3 version to be superior, if not there's something wrong.

Oblivion on the PS3's superioraties aren't cosmetic, Unless the vid shows load times and rendering times. It's not going to show where the 360 version loses out.

I have a seperate question, If oblivion is still where it was when it was released, what was the point in the game updates?

I've read that the loading times on the PS3 version is vastly improved.

Looking at that video you can see the 360 better looking textures in some scenes and the PS3 in others. The PS3 lighting appears more subtle though. One thing I did notice in one section of the video is lack of pop up with distant objects with the PS3 version (around 1.20 in).

Aye, but Bethusda have confirmed that a patch for the PC/360 will appear before Shivering Isles with this new distance draw code in. Good times.

Forgot about that!

Think it might be time to dust of Oblivion from the shelf and actually finish the damn thing!
