If it breaks months down the line, you can't just nip it back to a local store (Game, etc) and see customer services face to face.
For the sake of the price of a game just buy one from the UK. Why export your cash to Russia anyway, support UK jobs damnit!!!
I missed the clue that he might commute, as per his Location. Personally, I still wouldn't bother, but each to their own. The question is; are you considering a cheap one because he cannot afford at RRP?
Read this morning that companies are now starting to clamp down on online sales from Russian sites to avoid people jumping on the Rouble crash. Apple have stopped online sales, and Steam are now region locking games.
Doesn't affect actually walking into a brick and mortar store in Russia, but worth noting nonetheless.
