PS4 & BO3 Help

Hello

I have one PS+ User and one normal user.

I am trying to play two player campaign and zombies, it says upto 4 players but i only see me with no option to add someone else.

I only just got the game so i have no idea what i need to do to add another player, tried pressing all buttons on the other controller.

Any ideas what i need to do?

Call of Duty: Black Ops III supports two-player split-screen online play in Multiplayer or Zombies game modes.

Xbox One and PlayStation 4 support split-screen for up to four players in Multiplayer, but only in local play.

I have not got the update downloaded yet (12 hours!) so i can only work out how to play against eachother.

Is there any way we can play offline against zombies or campaign?

EDIT: I can add a second controller by pressing X on the main screen but soon as i lick campaign or zombies the option to press X or play as 2 player is gone.

try going into zombies then add the controler if not you may need to update
