PS4 CASING - MODDED(OR BUTCHERED, DEPENDING ON TROLL ABILITYS)

so my filter arrived today, started the work almost as soon as i picked it up.the pics show a rough step-by-step of what went on(without the butchering tools).in(ps4)case anyone is wondering, the reason for only 3 bolts is i had to put it off-set a little as the hole is only just smaller than the filter.all haters welcome, but not really taken on.

warranty was already void before doing this as i removed the stickers to look inside the ps4.

Is it loud? I imagine a small fan will be, and if not it won't be doing much?

Also it looks like the fan sits on top of a solid bit of plastic rendering it rather useless?

Edit:ah is it right above the GPU?

Also why did you do it?

Nah the fan is located a couple of inches away from the APU, but the heatsink for that is inside a tunnel where the fan forces the cool air drawn in from the sides (and now bottom? X.x)... there's some decent air pressure at work, but I'm not so sure now xD

i did it for better cooling, everytime i feal my consoles get hot i get images of the soldering inside melting lol
the solid piece of plastic is a laptop cooling pad, with the mod i made it adds to the cooling of the ps4, which i have been testing since finishing it.

I dont mod my consoles, I just pour diet coke over the ps4 whenever it gets to hot....seems more sensible

lol its clear the OP was thinking cause of back in the day the XBOX360 RROD due to the solder they used that due to heat was lifting off the circuit board ......
but then in the previous new versions they replaced the solder to led or some other type that did not do that under heat.

though im sure sony did not use that same solder
anyhooo still nuts cause that opening probably made things worse as the ps4 is made internally to be cooled correctly in a closed environment not sure now what is happening.

You're just diverting the air drawn in, as now the air won't pass by the motherboard sections or the disk drives, this may lead to a cooler gpu/CPU but won't help the other devices inside.

Not saying that what has been done here is making the console any better, I don't know personally, but things like this are made to a budget - who's to say a few extra pence spent somewhere else wouldn't have improved temps somewhat, but been out of budget.
