The game that started it all for From Software’s Souls series could be set for a resurrection.

Demon’s Souls was released exclusively for the PS3 in Japan back in 2009, before heading to UK shores the following year.

Of course, it then saw a set of spiritual successors in the form of Dark Souls and Dark Souls II, which expanded the franchise to Xbox and PC.

From Software returned to PlayStation exclusivity with a spiritual successor to that spiritual successor, Bloodborne, earlier this year.

Originally launched on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, Dark Souls II was also remastered for PS4 and Xbox One in the form of Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin.

A third Dark Souls title – said to be the last in the series – is set for release early next year.

But From Software could also be set to return to the origins of the Souls franchise soon, if a cryptic tweet is anything to go by.

Posted on the official Bloodborne Twitter account, the caption-less image shows multiple versions of Bloodborne – including this month’s new Old Hunters Edition, which includes the eponymous DLC pack – underneath a copy of Demon’s Souls.

It might be enigmatic, but the move certainly raises eyebrows – especially given the close proximity of the upcoming PlayStation Experience event on December 5th and 6th. Could a PS4-exclusive remaster of Demon’s Souls be on the way?

Seems like a very very vague tease to me, I'd be pretty happy to see it for certain, what do you think?

I remember importing it from Paly asia playing it for a week not getting any where and selling on :D

Dam that game was tough, would be cool to see a remake though.

Reaching.

Anyways, while a performance boost would be nice, I dont feel a 1080p conversion is going to do it many wonders. It's not actually that great looking of a game in terms of core assets.

Still hope it happens at some point, though. Many people did not own a PS3 and never got the opportunity to play this. Gameplay is as good as any in the 'series' for the most part.

Would be good but personally I would prefer dark souls remaster, I just think it improved on demons souls in a lot of ways.

I'd be more than happy with a £14.99 1080P/60FPS re-release to be honest. The only thing I'd be interested in seeing added would be the 6th archstone.

True, that would be cool!

I would also accept a basic port but in an ideal world, the game being fully remade would be awesome but cant see it happening

I'd prefer Demons Souls because Dark Souls can already be played at 1080p/60fps on PC(hell, modern cards can play it at 4k/60fps). Demons Souls, however, is forever doomed to be 1280x720 with no anti aliasing and only roughly 30fps unless something is done about it. I liked Dark Souls better too, but Demons Souls is the one that is stuck on old hardware.

I missed out on Demon's Souls, I was a poor student and could only afford one console, and that was Xbox (for Halo)

Hopefully this comes true, I'd love to play this with upgraded visuals. (and maybe port to PC?)

Ive heard quite a few rumours it could be the people that did the Shadow of the colossus remake. They have the remake/remaster game on point and they have said the next game they do will be another remake/remaster.

Keep in mind most of the posts in this thread were 3-4 years ago :D

I have heard these recent rumours too! I would love to see this game brought up to speed.

Is that actual footage of the remaster, it just looks like a res bump.

Thieves if so.
Yep it's the most lazy thing they could have done. If you plays 360 or ps3 it may feel lile a bump but it's essentially inline with the pc version now. I really wanted more. Remaster as a term seems to have lost all meaning
