Hi,

Has anyone else had this? If so have you found a fix?

I have a PS4 from mid to late 2014. It is randomly ejecting discs, this can be during game play or even when there is no disc loaded and the machine is turned off. It will suddenly come to life and eject the disc.

This is making my PS4 totally unusable as it is just spitting the disc out minutes or seconds in to a game.

It seems to be a common issue, there are various suggested fixes online, nothing seems to help.

Have you had this? We're you able to solve it?

Thanks!

Is it on a glass shelf/unit? I seem to recall early ps4s having this problem. Try putting something under it. Iirc its the button, theyre touch sensitive, rectified on later models with actual buttons that need to be clicked.

Take it apart and put a piece of insulation tape over the contacts between the eject switch and motherboard, it'll never do it again.

Mine does this now and again too. Turn off, unplug, leave for a few minutes for all capacitors to discharge, turn on again, fine for a few weeks :)

There's a rubber "foot" in the middle of the underside, removing this stopped mine from ejecting the disc at random. Dano's solution is the other option

I just pulled the eject switch out of mine and it stopped doing it. You can easily eject discs from the home screen so never need to use the physical button.
