Has anybody ever had their HDMI port replaced, I made a colossal boo boo and tripped on my HDMI cable ripping it from the ps4, I checked the pins inside the port and many were bent, I tried straightening them with tweezers but they snapped off

I have watched many YouTube videos on replacing the port and it's not something I could do, I then read the comments about people sending theirs for replacement to so called experts only to see horror stories of botched jobs.

I don't know if I should take a chance on one of these so called expert repairs or bite the bullet and just shell out for a new ps4 as the price difference is quite substantial

Can anyone recommend a place that can be trusted ? I'm so mad right now

I would imagine that it's hugely variable between store, but some CEX stores do repairs - they send it off to a repair centre. According to the CEX clinic website, a HDMI port replacement is £66.

Hmmm CEX seems to be the only store near me that I can actually go to without sending my PS4 off, only problem is i really don't like that company had some bad experiences with them, think I'm going to shell out for a new slim and chuck this broken one.

Might be the best option, albeit an expensive mistake :(

If you're just going to just bin the old one to get a new one you might as well take a stab at replacing it yourself. Best case is that you fix it, worst it goes in the bin where it was going anyway and at least you'll have some experience you wouldn't have otherwise.

I wouldn't mind taking a stab at fixing it if the price was right, I've always enjoyed trying to fix things and it saves you chucking it out for nothing. Can't remember the MM stance on selling faulty consoles though.
