So whats your thoughts on this guys?..and would you buy one?

http://www.gamesradar.com/ps4-keyboard-mouse/

I know using a Keyboard & Mouse has been possible before on the last gen consoles but not officially supported.

But this to me,making a Mouse and Keyboard for the PS4..isn't this giving the Controller players a huge disadvantage?

On a plus side,It will be good to play FPS on a console using a Mouse and keyboard rather than PC because there's a lot of cheaters these days on PC FPS games. :)

so you don't like pc games due to cheaters.

but you want to use kb and mouse and give yourself a HUGE advantage over console players?

ohhhh the ironing.

I've been using a XIM4 for however many months now for Battlefield 4 / Far Cry.

Have to laugh at people saying it's an unfair advantage as I'm still getting owned except I'm actually enjoying playing online with my friends. Yes I'm more competitive with a kb&m but people using a pad are just as good. It all depends on what you are used to.

Also it's saved me money as my PC needs upgrading and can't run the latest games. By using a XIM4 I can play the latest games and actually enjoy them without spending near £1000 for a PC upgrade.

Well i was asking what you guys think about it,First of all i don't play FPS on a console..purely because i cant aim to save my life.

i was just curious to hear what console fps players who enjoy using their gamepads feel about this and how it will effect gameplay and stuff.

Can't say I'm fussed about buying this tbh. I play from a chair and don't have a desk to rest these on anyway.

Officially licensed by Sony, so I guess that takes care of whether Sony has a problem with this type of device.

As for the thing itself, if it's anything like the ps3 one, it will be bad. One size fits all approach. For the price they are asking, you are much better off with a Xim4. Supports 4 consoles, smart translators tuned specifically for each game. Smartphone app to easily map, multiple mappings able to be saved.

Hmmmm, I am a die hard KB/M guy on FPS, the reason I don't play FPS on consoles is because I can't get used to the pad.

I am not a fan of cheating and hack to get a KB/M to work to beat others using a pad.

However, if this is an official licence product that everyone can buy then it becomes a choice?

if i had my ps4 on my desk or something i'd probably get one of these. Not so that i can be better or get a better k/d ratio or whatever, just because i genuinely enjoy playing fps games more with a kbm combo. But i can't really imaging leaning forward on my coffee table in front of the tv with one of these. Hmm

I'm similar, I've never been a PC fps gamer, from what I understand it is quicker to aim with a mouse but I'm used to a controller.

it is cheating, just because your crap at the game doesn't change that fact.

put it this way if everyone went go karting and you decided that you would bring out a unchipped (no 30mph limit) 500cc kart up against people using a chipped 250cc kart and you lost because you can't drive to save yourself would that not be classed as cheating? yes it would as you have gave yourself an unfair advantage not readily available to others.

some argue that people using specific screens and headphones, etc is cheating but that's all within the rules as far as i'm concerned.

the ps4 was never designed to be used with a system like xim. it was designed for use with any type of tv or headphones though, not my fault if people have inferior screens or sound setups.

xim however exploits the control system making it far more accurate in fps games, no deadzones, etc, if you delve into how it works compared to a DS4 there is no way you can think it wasn't cheating.

If it's officially licensed than anyone can buy the item and use it, there for it is not cheating, I could moan it's cheating because a few have 5.1 surround sound and i only have stereo audio, therefore they hear me coming and it's cheating.

It will be interesting to read reviews, but i doubt it'll be much better, although recoil control might be easier.

i'm talking about the XIM which poos all over this Hori device.

the xim4 is definetely not officially licensed

How do you know it poo's all over !! not seen a review yet.

If Sony would just allow it as an option like MS might be doing with the W10 update, no one can then say it's cheating, as they have the option.

i don't need to see the review of a vauxhall nova to know an audi r8 poos all over it.

this companies previous KB and mouses have been terrible.

xim has a history of being the top dog in the console world for kb and mouses. custom profiles, on the fly switching, specific tweaks for each and every game.

this has none of the customization options, plus xim are on their 4th generation console kb and mouse system. plus xim system costs more and you don't get a kb or mouse included so obviously it's got a lot more to it.

it's a much more complicated engineering solution with a simple setup.

if a game comes out which has specific settings the xim can adapt to it, this hori device cannot.

While this can be an annoying, could we also argue that people who drive on racing sims with a wheel, have an advantage over those using the controller?

Sure this just looks bad, but if people are willing to pay for it, I don't see an issue.

those with additional buttons shouldn't be allowed though which can give advantage.

Exactly, I can't afford or have room for a Wheel/chair set up, so stick with the pad, but for shooters i would love proper K/M functionality, getting older now and my thumbs are not a quick or precise as they used to be :p

Also agree with the additional buttons, you should not have rapid fire or anything like that, just buttons to replicate the DS4.
