Quite glad to see a few of these coming out/are out:

I've pumped hours into DOTA/HON but prefer console gaming. MOBAs have typically had a very steep learning curve but extremely addictive due to variety of heroes/builds/strategies.

What is a MOBA?

SMITE

some gameplay:

Out a now! Free to play. Build up points to buy new heroes or straight out buy all heroes for £25. Third person perspective which is a nice change - still getting use to it!

Few beginner things they've done such as auto buy items and a decent tutorial makes it user friendly. Also nice to see some different modes like arena and joust (3v3 instead of 5v5).

PARAGON

gameplay trailer:

Made by EPIC games and uses the latest Unreal Engine so it looks fantastic.
Currently closed BETA which you can access by buying the Foundation Pack for £15. Will be free when it comes out in summer.

BATTLEBORN

First person perspective:

Made by Gearbox. Open beta next week, Out summer. Lots of different modes, incursion mode mimics a MOBA.

These games are all heavily team base. Anyone interested?
I plan to play/try them all. Currently enjoying SMITE.

I suppose I should add that it's not pay to win.
The points are spent in unlocking heroes and cosmetics.

Suprised at lack of interest especially as these are FREE games!

SMITE has been out on PC for years so it's very well polished.

EDIT battleborn isn't!

I play Smite a lot. Awesome game. Coming from Xbox ONE though, the standard of players just isn't there yet on PS4. I'm getting some ridiculous scores at the moment; 43-1 as Rama on Clash is my best. And I'm average at best :indeed:

If anyone wants any pointers, just ask.

I'm getting good scores but not that good!
I think I'm getting matched now so games are a bit more tactical. That or ps4 players are understanding the objectives of a moba.

Gotta say I love the variety. Arena and clash are brilliant!

I've switched auto buy off now. At the moment loving bellona. Some of the moves are hilarious like hercules ultimate.

Tried looking up bellona builds but smitefire ones are well out of date. YouTube helping a bit. Where do you look??

Smitefire, though I haven't looked since before Season 3 started so I'm a bit behind on changes. Once you understand all the items, published builds become less important as you'll tend to just build to suit your play style and situation.

Can't really help with advice for Bellona as Warriors aren't really my thing. Only one I've spent much time with is Ravana, and he's very different to the others.

Yeah I've been looking on there past few days. The authors have started updating their guides for season 3.

Getting accustomed to the items.

Have moved on to playing as nemesis who is great fun though squishy. Just got chac who seems more technical.

New patch coming out in a few days for 60 fps!

I'm surprised your wife gives you any time to play all these games puki!! ;)

Hahaha I still have to whisper....
Where've you been?
Are you not back from your deployment?

Smite is a good game. I think brown pants should get Smite.

Interested to hear how these games pan out. Interested in Paragon, Battleborn doesn't really grab me from the trailers though.

People are overlooking smite. Remember it's been out on pc for years so it's well balanced. I've already pumped hours into it. Now running at 60 fps and it's out now.

There's a handful of us playing it so easy to put a team together.

Good stuff!

Might be on for a late one tonight if you're around. 2 more of us also might be available. Depends what time I get home. I'll drop you a psn message if running late.

I picked up Lao kang. Different play style so getting use to him.

Thursday night can be juicy.

A few suggestions for Gods;

Geb
Athena
Xblanque
Nu Wa
Loki

They're all relatively easy to master and really quite powerful. Geb/Athena are particularly useful - just build loads of protections, accept you won't get many kills and run interference. You'll annoy the hell out of the enemy. Just focus on not dying.

I tried athena - great with her taunt move and generally tanking but unsatisfying as little kills. Great for objective games though.

I might try nu wa out.

I'm officially hooked on this now. Got a regular team of 3 going for some Jousts and had so many great matches. Had 2 major comeback ins in a row Sunday morning with my mates.

I honestly never felt like I'd enjoy the MOBA genre - like many it seemed overwhelming coming at it late but once you do get to grips with the mechanics of the game and the Hero's I can see exactly why it's so popular.
I'll be playing this for a long time.

I was getting so bored of gaming too so this is good timing.

The come backs are so satisfying. I'll be on tonight +1 so should have a full team.
