Ps4 on 1440p monitor

With the release of the 1070s and 1080s shortly I'll consider the move to 1440p. I currently run my ps4 via hdmi through my 1080p monitor no issue and it looks fine. Does anyone have any views on running the ps4 through a 1440p monitor and it being none native resolution? Looks worse than native 1080p? It would likely be a high end gsync model.

Yes and it look awful. I was using on a mid spec Dell something, maybe U27HM.. Was also awful on the AOC.

got the PS4 connected to my Dell U2711. it doesn't look great, but nothing really does when the monitor is not running at its native resolution.

Looks fine on my U2715H.

Just make sure the PS4 is set to 1080P.

When I first plugged mine in it defaulted to 720P.

Yes it will look worse than a 1080P monitor unless you run it in 1:1 pixel mode and even then it will be a bit of a letter box.

If it's bearable, I don't mind much as don't often use it.
