Hi nephew wants a ps5 for xmas so i am tasked to find out the following, he has added a hard drive should he remove it for his ps5 or sell it with the hard drive, also he has a VR set up will it work on the ps5 ?
Thanks

The PS5 can be used with an external USB hard drive, but it can't run native PS5 games from it as the read speed/bandwidth isn't fast enough. But if he wants to play PS4 games off the hard drive he can do that if he wishes.

The PS5's internal storage can be expanded by adding a compatible internal PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSD drive. Older hard drives won't work.

I can't comment on VR as I don't have it, but Sony is about to release a new VR system for the PS5.

Thanks will let him know, so if he fits a nvme can he add his ps4 games to it ?

You have to apply for an adapter for PSVR have a Google, you can play the PS4 games off the external hard drive or copy them to the internal memory or NVME drive if fitted.

You can usually grab the WD SN850 for around £100 and it’s a great drive.
