Not played anything for the last 18 months on the ps5 and not kept up with what's come out is there anything playstation only or some hidden gems?

What sort of games do you like to play?

I really enjoyed FF7 Rebirth, but some people found the technical side of things off putting, you essentially had to choose between pretty (but with issues) at 30fps or a blurry mess at 60fps.

Astrobot is apparently fantastic if you like puzzle/platformer type games.

Im more of a single player gamer, FF7 rebirth is that new? As I thought FF7 (I sold my PS5 at the start of the year as it wasnt getting much use just got a PS5 Pro) came out a few years ago. Last thing I played was God of War Ragnarok.

It's part two of the FF7R series, but it does offer a video based bit on what came before if you don't want to play the first part.

It's not really a "remake" of the Final Fantasy 7 game, it's more like a weird sequel or reimagining, if you're into JRPG's and open worlds it's amazing if you're a lover of the series that doesn't mind the facets I've mentioned. If you're new to it, it might be right up your street if you enjoy a JRPG story driven game, just be sure sure to watch the the optional intro bit.

Haven't been that many 1st party exclusives released since GoW Ragnarok. These are the ones you've missed ( single player wise ) : Spider-Man 2, Astrobot, Stellar Blade, Last of Us parts 1 & 2 Remastered, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered ( and HZD Forbidden West / Burning Shores if you didn't play that before you got rid of your original PS5 ), Rise of the Ronin, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Btw, I think you're confused about FF7 .... it's a remake ( in 3 parts ) ; part 1 came out in 2020 and Rebirth, which is part 2, came out earlier this year. Who knows when part 3 is due ... probably at least 2 years away.

Other recommendations, but these are multiplatform games, include : Hogwart's Legacy, Alan Wake 2, Baldur's Gate 3, Black Myth Wukong, Elden Ring / Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Unicorn Overlord, GranBlue Fantasy: ReLink, Lies of P, Silent Hill 2, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Assassin's Creed Mirage, Diablo 4, Cyberpunk 2077 / Phantom Liberty expansion, Armoured Core VI Fires of Rubicon, Space Marine 2, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Final Fantasy 16, Dragon's Dogma 2, Dead Space Remake.

That lot should keep you busy at Xmas !

I think I should be able to find a few things in that list I usually the multi platform stuff on my PC.

I'd start with Cyberpunk and the expansion, and Elden Ring personally.

Edit: but if you use your PC for multiplatform, go with FF7 Rebirth, Unicorn Overlord, and any of the Uncharted games you haven't played

If not played on PS4, TLOU part 2. Bought it on PS4 but never played it and after all the negativity i really enjoyed it. Returnal I could never get into just too hard for me

There are loads of great PS5 games that have come out this year. Stellar Blade (Yum), Alan Wake 2, Silent Hill 2 Remake, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Resident Evil Village, Dead Space Remake the list goes on. I really cant understand people that say there isnt that much to play on the PS5. those are just a few of the great games i have played recently.

My back has flared up, so I've been in bed a lot more. I've set up PXPlay (a better, paid version of PS Remote Play) to stream my Lounge PS5 to the bedroom TV.

Currently working my way through:
The Last of Us 1&2,
Ghosts of Tsushima
Star Wars Outlaws
Red Dead Redemption 2
Dying Light 2
Horizon Zero Dawn (+DLC)
Lego Star Wars (Skywalker Saga)

Hogwarts Legacy (first non-Lego game I've actually 100% completed with all trophies)

Unfortunately on the PS5 RDR2 isnt great. I stuck it in recently to see if it was playable at 30fps but it was pretty bad. I think the better option for that game is to use the PC Version streamed with Steam if you have the ability.
