PS5 Monitor/TV

My son is looking to get a Monitor or TV for PS5, ideally to use it for 4k and 120hz, but prices are high.

Any suggestions as all seem quite high in price when using hdmi 2.1

Lots of monitors and TV claiming to be 4k but I thought they had to use hdmi 2.1 for genuine 4k? Happy to be corrected.

Would it make a difference?

I think they are above my budget, hence my question about the difference. But under £400

Looking at what it brings and the games available, 60hz sounds suitable.

A TV or monitor does not need to be HDMI 2.1 to display "genuine 4k", its just a resolution.

But it will need HDMI 2.1 to do 120hz/120fps @ 4K. HDMI 2.0 will only do 60hz, HDMI 1.4 will only do 30hz. There might be HDR limitations but not 100% sure to be honest.

Honestly I am not sure there is much on PS5 that will run @ 4K 120hz anyway and you would need to double or tripple your budget unless you a really good second hand deal.
