PS5 weird thing

i have a ps5 disc version. fully updated.

when the console is off or in sleep mode and i press the ps button to awaken the beast, it more often than not starts up and then immediately goes into sleep mode. you then press the ps button again and starts up normally. any ideas why it does it?

Mine does it too, very rarely. Maybe 5-10 times in the past 12 months. More often than not would be annoying. Try a full restart next time it does it. I use rest mode all the time though I do try and reboot it at least once a week.

You could always try a database rebuild maybe that will help ?

Had this too but only when I had the console plugged directly in to my soundbar via hdmi.
