Just a quick shoutout to those who own the LG34UC88 or LG34UC98 (or any other monitor that may have this bug), if you've occasionally noticed a slight flickering when either coming out of a fullscreen game or application (or even Youtube video), your monitor is not faulty like I thought mine was.
The latest drivers fix an edge-case bug which on some monitor setups (especially dual monitors with different refresh rates) kept freesync 'on' in the desktop and would cause a minor flickering which could easily be mistaken for a faulty backlight or display. The very newest drivers (17.7.2) have fixed this long standing bug and I've not noticed any since updating to them.
If you really don't want to update your drivers then disabling Freesync in the AMD control panel will also fix the issue. I hope this helps anyone else out there who may have this issue.
