Pseudo-new/2nd hand build dilemma

OK folks

Need a bit of advice.

I'm going to build a base unit for dad - he wants an upgrade for his office PC which is about 5 years old & getting a bit long in the tooth.

He uses it for office/email/web & very little else.

Now I thought I could do this a little cheaper by scouring the MM & classifieds on other forums, so far I've got

2gig Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800
500gig Samsung F3
E5200

I've also bought Win7 HP OEM brand new.

Now I've got a spare optical drive & CPU cooler so its just the case, PSU & Motherboard/Graphics but the specific items (lowish wattage quiet PSU/G31/33/41/43 chipset board/decent case under £40) seem to be a bit few & far between right now on the MM & elsewhere. I could be waiting a while for the bits I want.

My Dilemma is this - the board. If I put the W7 OEM on that board & it dies bang goes the OEM. I also want the E5200 to fit in & fire up without having to muck about with the bios. So do you think I should buy a new board or wait for a 2nd hand board to turn up? same goes for the Case & PSU.

budget for the sake of asking is £150?
