PSN ID Question

I setup an account on my playstation when I bought it and purchased calling all cars and super stardust hd. I had second thoughts about the name and I changed it and made a new account. Are those previous purchases linked to my first PSN id or are they just linked to my email or something else like that?

Thanks in advance :)

I think they are linked to your PSN ID. Why not just setup another user account with your new details, you will be able to play any games purchsed by any account on that system.

Thanks for responding.

I have setup another user account with my new details and new PSN id and they still work as expected. I have actually just realised that I remember that their DRM policy is that you can share the games 5 times between accounts (I think) so it should be okay.

I'm getting confused because I could not do this on my xbox 360. When I had it replaced my brother could not play my arcade games that I bought and I could not play the ones he had bought. However this was because it was linked to the console serial number, I don't think the PS3 works like that.

You can do it more than five times ;). I woudl imagine that 'hypothetically speaking' someone could share their PSN ID with four or five trusted mates so that they too can download your purchases - they might give you their PSN ID's in return.

Not that I would do such a thing!
