Getting a maintenance message but I was signed in a second or two ago.

only just able to sign in just now. I really hope it was because they (sony/ea) are looking at resolving psn issues with fifa.

Still though when psn is down ill just play on XBL.

Gotta say it is starting to get -noticeably- annoying the amount of interference or problem the PSN is having whenever a new game or feature comes out. e.g. when vidzone came out it utterly botched my psn for about a week could never stay signed in...all the time my isp and sony kept blaming each other.

Can't get into the store, which is super annoying because the PSN cards I ordered have finally arrived and I can't add the credit to my account.
They brokened it.

As an aside, the 'cards' are a bit crap aren't they?
Not even cards, just a bit of paper in a blu-ray case.

Logged in now, MAG says "content cannot be accessed from this account", Uncharted 2 Beta says "server maintenance".

Account Management gives up an error, Store says it is not available in my region.

Rubbish.

I'd take that with a pinch of salt, the official PS forum states that the maintenance should finish at 19:20 BST.

psn felt crap all day today. Couldnt get an online match in any mode that wasnt more than 1 red bar.

Somehow i dont think its just my connection... :/

Does XBL suffer from this sortof thing? where a company brings out a game and it clashes with the XBL infrastructure making online play inoperable?

Games don't "break" the Xbox Live network as such. There can be server issues such as was seen with Battlefield 1943 where you can't get a game but you can still access all your account details, the marketplace, etc.

I assume your referring to FIFA 10? It would be EA who provide the match making servers for that as it's their game so it must surely be their fault that match making has been poor rather than it being the fault of PSN?

So why the poor performance of the PSN when playing fifa10 online? Getting sign out errors and such? Coincidence?

Remember this is October a few big games are coming out this month e.g. Uncharted 2. So loads more people will be wanting to play that online.....god help the PSN ehh...

It's EA. They have confirmed it's an issue with the game.
