PSN+ Vs XboxLive

MS offer it for free though I am sure.

Publishers/developers still have to pay for them but they are MASSIVELY cheaper than getting them from other companies. The main advantage being that Azure is all tied in to Xbox Live so, I'm assuming, it's a lot easier setting them up.

This is a quote from Respawn about using Azure for TitanFall
Most importantly to us, Microsoft priced it so that it's far more affordable than other hosting options

Lats gen, I'd say Xbox Live was much better - mainly for voice chat. Voice chat with mates on PS3 was terrible and I ended up buying a cheap 360 just to play online games.

This time around, Live is probably still better but at the same time I haven't had a single issue with PSN for online gaming.

The only real complaint is the downtime, but I've never seen PSN down once since launch - but then gaming isn't one of my main hobbies anymore so that's just chance - I have heard it's been down far too often.
Wouldn't bother me as i'd happily just go find something else to do. Always far more things to do than there is time to do it!!!

Overall - they seem pretty close this time around.

I've owned xbone and currently own ps4.

From a strictly online/operatin system standpoint I'd say the xbox is superior.

PSN's OS/Online features aren't terrible, but feel no where near as optimized or polished in my opinion.

I hope in the future Sony will release more regular updates for the PS4. Why can't we have notifications for when our friends come online?!

Yea my experience of using psn for years too many laggy spanish portuguese italians on there the matchup service is all wrong for psn it reports 3 green bars when it's 1 red bar 200 ms ping + I didn't encounter as many laggers on xbox live down the years.

Just something messed up with the matchmaking on psn imo and it's probably as simple as 3 green bars has a higher ping threshold on psn than live.
On live 200ms ping will be 1 red bar on psn it will be 3 green bars is what I am thinking.
