just got a base pack for my Son who's 9, what are the best accessories to get?

need a good case (just incase he drops it!)
mem stick
headphones
etc

also what games can be played with only one copy, so if I decide to get one for myself :D we can play together....

cheers

definately get a stick on screen protector (local high street gaming store does their own brand, which are very good)

this will stop the screen from getting scratched up

As a case, I'd recommend the logitech play gear pocket. It is a rigid case, made out of very strong perspex, which should shield the psp from being shocked or scratched.

See details of it here

As for memory cards, it may be worth checking on-line auction sites. If your son is only using the PSP for games, then he could make do with a 32 mb card, as game saves take up very little space. This is what I do, and I've still got 29 MB left.

As for decent games,

As a racing fanatic I would recommend;

Tocca
WRC
Burnout
Outrun

Midnight club is also quite good, however I found it a bit depressing racing in the dark all the time :(

the playgear pocket is made from polycarbonite which is what motorbike helmets are made from. would also recommend one of those :)

3rd recommendation for the logitech case. Got one the other day with my PSP to protect it while I fly, its quite big compared to soft cases, but hard as nails and keeps the PSP very secure.

Tekken resurection can be played on 2 PSPs with only one copy.

However, for ultimate gameplay, I'd recommend Lego Star Wars II. Excellent game (but you would need 2 copys for co-op mode)

For headphones look at the Sennheiser CX300s.

Probably don't need a huge memory stick unless you are going to transfer movies and music onto it for him. 32Mb Sony Pro Duo or SanDisk Pro Duo would be fine but then 1Gb is only £30. Be careful where you buy the memory stick from as there are lots of counterfeits doing the rounds.

Although the playgear pocket is the best case, for a 9 year old I think a playgear street + playgear visor would be best as this gives the screen much more protection. The playgear visor too big for the playgear pocket and a screen protector is only really to prevent small scratches and won't withstand any kind of abuse. Also check out things like the Joytech PSP armourlite.
