PSP battery life?

I have a fat, "first gen" PSP from when they first came out. I'm flying to Canada soon and i'm getting stuff together for the flight.

I just bought a film, and was planning to rip it and put it on the mem stick to watch.

I've googled, but can't seem to find a rough estimate of battery life for the fat PSP playing video off mem stick.

Any ideas?

4-5 hours is longer than I thought, that'll do. Might stick a film and a few episodes of "stuff" onto it :)

Cheers guys.

4-5 hours? Really? I swear my Slim only lasted around 2 hours, did the older one have a better battery?

The battery has a smaller capacity, but the total battery life should be about the same.

Depends on a lot of factors. I can easily get 4-5 hours from my Slim listening to music.

Have you got the screen brightness on full brightness all the time? WLAN turned on? etc.

No it's actually worse, but were you playing games from a UMD? How high was the screen brightness? Were you using headphones (reduces battery consumption)? Those totally decimate the battery life. Also, playing games obviously puts more strain on it than watching a avi file, because of this the battery life is further reduced.

Nah I was mainly using my PSP for emulating stuff, had my laptop on the plane back from Florida for watching TV shows. :p

Always had the screen dim with headphones in and WLAN off though.
