I'm thinking of swapping my 1000 for a newer model as it's having power switc issues and I'm coming to the conclusion that the screen ghosting is unbearable.

I only use UMD games (and legit games on a memory stick) and don't want to do naughty emulation etc stuff, so really I'm only interested in the screen quality and build quality.

Given no one is browsing the web on a psp in 2022 (or even 2008 tbh!) The lack of WiFi etc on the e1000 is not an issue and infact I'm leaning towards that model.

But I think the 2003 has the best overall screen according to the Eurogamer review?

Also what is the e1000 build quality like as it was a budget release. I know the battery isn't easily replaceable but I don't mind opening it up once to do a swap if needed.

Price wise the e1000 seems to be cheapest

In the end I went with a 2003 because I read conflicting reports over which has a better screen but either are much improved over the 1003 model, which is definitely true. It is also, unsurprisingly, much slimmer and lighter than the 1003 which is also nice. I'm enjoying some THUG2 and Worms in the evenings.

Is there a way to get your digital games onto the psp these days? Mine is offline and the WiFi security is too old to "understand" my router's security protocol.

I remember being able to do something via PS3? Or is there a way I can install the game legally from my PC onto the memory card?

Might rename this to PSP Appreciation Thread or something as it's general chitchat!

I bought a bunch of games for mine when in town today I now have 16 which is probably the most disk games for any platform. Currently playing The Simpsons Game.

Does anyone have a link to a replacement battery that definitely fits the slim as I bought one before and it didn't fit. Also pretty interested in Googling that IPS upgrade as even the later screens are not great tbh (much worse than I remember).
