I discovered the joys of remote play with my PSP today!!! :) It's GREAT! I sat in the garden sipping a coke and used my PSP to turn on my PS3 and started streaming my DivX's from my PC (Tversity) to my PS3 which dutifully re-encoded the files and streamed them to my PSP on the fly via wi-fi! Brilliant! :) Got through 3 episodes of Dexter series 2 before passing out in the sun :)

But - I'm keen to know what else it is useful for. Anyone?

You can play a few PSN games as well as all the PS1 games on your PS3. Apparently you can start downloads to your PS3 via your PSP using any wifi hotspot though I havent tried it.

I use mine for...

Watching streamed content/streaming music to it.
Watching PlayTV (and setting stuff recording when I'm not at my PS3).
PS1 games.
Browsing the web from away from my computer. (PS3 browser > PSP browser).
Buying stuff from the PSN store without going to the PS3.

Who is actually gonna do that though??? I mean, really?

I'm going to give it a go when I'm in the states in a few weeks time just for laughs. My money is on it timing out before the PS3 wakes up. :p

I have done it to play final fantasy 7... But it had two dark 'film lines' on the top and bottom of the psp screen which was kinda crap. So i havent bothered using it again. Is there anyway to get rid of those lines at all? Cheers

Whenever i go home to visit the parents i stick a few shows/films i want to watch on my PS3 and then watch em in bed. Also i'm currently using those opportunities to continue my playthrough in FFIX
